Fixin’ Hours

See the home page for our current fixin’ hours

All Smithies are welcome at open hours, and we can provide free fixin’ help for anyone in the Smith community, regardless of whether or not you’ve rented one of our bikes

Bike fixin’ hours are when you can bring your bike in to learn how to fix any issues that you may be having. Below is a list of common issues that we see, but if you don’t see the issue you’re having, bring your bike in anyway! We’ll help you figure out what’s going on. Or if you’re not having any issues, come by and help fix up one of our bikes!

Common Issues

  • Rusty Chains
  • Trouble Shifting
  • Squeaky or non-responsive brakes
  • Basic Tune-up
  • “Um, It’s just not working”

Fixing Bikes Is Empowering

One really important part of this organization is that we are all about learning and teaching bike maintenance. This means that we want you to come in expecting to get your hands a little dirty. We will help you every step of the way, but we believe knowing how to fix a problem can give you an extra boost of confidence while you’re riding.

Most of us had very little (or no) bike fixing experience before we came to Bike Kitchen, and we are all still learning.
