Alumna Shehrbano Taseer awarded human rights award, appears on The Rachel Maddow Show

On June 21, Shehrbano Taseer ’10, appeared on The Interview portion of The Rachel Maddow Show.

Shehrbano, who graduated from Smith College with a degree in Government and Film Studies, lives in Lahore, Pakistan. As the daughter of assassinated Pakistani politician Salmaan Taseer, Shehrbano met with Rachel Maddow to talk about the “complicated relationship between the United States and Pakistan”. A video clip of the interview can be viewed on Facebook.

Also on June 21, Shehrbano was also announced as a winner of a human rights award from Human Rights First, a non-profit that promotes laws and policies that advance universal rights and freedoms.  The awards will be presented in October.
