Monday: Lecture on religion and politics in North Africa

Zeghal will give a lecture at Smith on November 14.

On Monday, November 14, guest speaker Malika Zeghal will give a lecture titled Religion and Politics in North Africa: Islamist Movements and Parties in the Political Process.

Zeghal is the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Professor in Contemporary Islamic Life, Department of Near Eastern Languages & Civilizations and the Committee on the Religion at Harvard University.  She is a political scientist who studies religion “through the lens of Islam and power.”

The lecture runs from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Seelye 207. Participants are invited to bring their lunches to the lecture.
