The Smith College Club of Great Britain (SCCGB) is hosting SCCGB Salon — Asian Women’s Leadership University Project on Wednesday, November 30.
Asian Women’s Leadership University (AWLU) Project is in the process of building a world-class educational institution in Asia dedicated to empowering women to become successful entrepreneurs and engaged leaders. Recognizing that a country’s economic progress is dependent on women thriving in society, AWLU seeks to meet the demand for outstanding education for women in Asia to become, like Smith, a premiere center for global women’s leadership.
The project was founded by Smith alumna Barbara Hou ’03 and Smith alumnae and trustees Mona Sinha ’88 and Hoon Eng Khoo ’73. A number of other Smith alumnae (including many from the United Kingdom) are involved as advisors and fundraisers.
The salon will take place on Wednesday, November 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. while Barbara Hou is visiting London. Barbara will join SCCGB members at the home of Martha Fray ’74 to talk about AWLU’s vision and its exceptional progress.
To register and pay for the event alumnae should visit the event’s webpage. Students are also invited to attend at no cost, but should also register using the webpage. In addition to discussion, the evening will also include refreshments.
