Smith on list of institutions with most international students

Last month, The Chronicle of Higher Education published a list of the U.S. Institutions With the Most International Students for 2010-11. Smith College is number 12 on the list of baccalaureate institutions with the most international students.

The list’s data comes from the Institute of International Education (IIE). The IIE has presented detailed research findings of a survey conducted among international students in the United States. Among their key findings, IIE found that:

• 78% of survey respondents considered a period of study abroad as a way to better their career opportunities
• 83% of all respondents agreed that the reputation of academic qualifications and degrees from the U.S. was important in their decision to study in the United States
