Smith to host leadership event in Singapore this summer

Smith College is one of the world’s most prestigious colleges for women. Since its founding in 1875, Smith has produced women leaders whose work has changed the world for the better.

Please plan on joining Smith College President Carol T. Christ, distinguished faculty, and alumnae for an event celebrating the enduring—and far-reaching— power of a Smith education and the profound impact it has on the lives of women. This three-day women’s global leadership forum will feature panels, discussions, and lectures on women’s role in public policy, the arts, education, and government, among other topics. There will also be plenty of time to meet current Smith students and other alumnae from the region and enjoy some of the cultural highlights of Singapore.

Among the invited presenters are:

  • Judith Fergin ’73, US Ambassador to East Timor
  • Carol A. Rodley ’76, Former U.S. Ambassador to Cambodia and current Dean of the School of Leadership and Management at the Foreign Services Institute
  • Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy ’02, award-winning filmmaker
  • Kishore Mahbubani, Dean and Professor in the Practice of Public Policy, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore

Watch for an invitation in the coming months.  Space is limited for this event. If you think you might attend, please let us know by sending an e-mail to smithevents@smith.edu.
