Arabic Film Festival at Smith

"Masquerades" is one of several films being shown at Smith's Arabic Film Festival.

A series of Arabic films will be shown at Smith College in Seelye 106.  Films will begin on February 29 and continue through March 4.  A complete schedule is below.

The festival begins on February 29 at 7:30 p.m. with a screening of Masquerades, a comedy from Algeria.

    Then, on March 2 at 6:30 p.m. attendees will watch the short film Garagouz from Algeria, followed by feature-length film Captain Abu Raed from Jordan at 7:30 p.m.

    First up on March 3 at 6:30 p.m. is the short Egyptian film Maydoum, followed by the feature City of Life from the United Arab Emirates.

    The last day of the festival is March 4.  The afternoon begins at 1:30 p.m. with Lebanon’s Habibti followed by the feature film Ali Zaoua from Morocco at 2:30 p.m.  A film festival discussion will take place at 4 p.m. to wrap up the event.
