Lecture: Combating human trafficking

Marilyn Carlson Nelson '61, chairman and former CEO of Carlson, will speak at Smith next week.

Next week, Marilyn Carlson Nelson ’61, will present a lecture and Global Salon breakfast.

On Tuesday, April 17, Marilyn will give a lecture titled, How We Lead Matters: Where Business and Human Rights Intersect.  The event will take place in Seelye Hall 106 at 4:30 p.m.

The next morning, Marilyn will be the featured guest at a Global Salon breakfast, where she will discuss Businesses Combating Human Trafficking.  The breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18 at the Global Studies Center.

Marilyn is chairman and former CEO of Carlson—a global travel and hospitality company, and one of the largest privately held companies in the world. She is also the author of the bestselling book, How We Lead Matters: Reflections on a Life of Leadership.  Marilyn has also  received a number of  honors and awards for her international human rights work, including being inducted into the French Légion d’Honneur, receiving the Royal Order of the North Star, First Class, from the King of Sweden, and being granted the rank of Officer First Class in the Order of the White Rose from the President of Finland.
