Marxist Study Group

MARXIST STUDY GROUP The Marxist Study Group was a discussion group founded in 1937 with the purpose of broadening student understanding of Marxist thought and principles, current events taking place in foreign countries at the time, and the nature of socialist government in relation to capitalism. The group hoped to accomplish these goals through the invitation of guest speakers and the organization of informal discussion groups. Any interested student who attended at least three meetings within a given academic year was considered a member.
