ODD VOLUMES CLUB The purpose of the Old Volumes Club, which was formed in 1936, was “to develop the interest of the students in old rare nooks which will lead to the building of individual libraries.” During its first months in action, the club decided that it would study buildings, paper, print, typesetting, illustrations, and more. Members also agreed to conduct a variety of discussions and lectures on topics ranging from the history of printing to fashion in books and public taste to the history of the alphabet and more.
