SMITH IN INDIA “Smith in India” was added to Smith College’s list of extra-curricular activities in 1953. The organization was devoted to facilitating a cultural exchange with a women’s college in Delhi, India. The program hoped to help students in both countries gain an understanding of and insight into each other’s customs and cultures. This was not a financial aid program but rather a mutual exchange of ideas between countries.
