Women’s War Work

Smith women have heeded numerous calls for war work in many different ways.  Whether planting Victory Gardens on campus during World War 2; helping to bring in a harvest at a local farm during World War 1; protesting the escalation of violence in Vietnam in the 1970s, or joining the WAVES, WASPs and SPARs to assist with the ‘war effort’ a Smith woman has always been somewhere to play an important role.
