We have many different events going on this year during ConBust. Many of them will be familiar to ConBust veterans, but we have some new events going on this year as well!
The One Dance to Rule Them All: Bigger, bolder and better than before! This year's dance DJ is Power Dance Front(PDF)!
Date Auction: Looking for a date for the One Dance to Rule Them All? Come to the date auction and bid on someone that strikes your fancy! Dashing lads and ladies, please pick up a form to apply to be bid on at the registration desk.
Cosplay Contests: This year, ConBust is going to have two seperate cosplay contests: our traditional "go and show your stuff" contest alongside a hall cosplaying contest. For the hall cosplay contest, you don't even need to go anywhere -- just show up to the con and strut your stuff in costume and you have a chance to win! Our mysterious ninja judge will be running around the con, looking for the best contest! Winners to both competitions will be announced at the dance Saturday night.
Filking Contest: Step one: pick a fandom. Step two: pick a song you/most people know. Step three: Rewrite the lyrics to said song to fit your fandom! Click here for an example. It's pretty simple, so come and give it your all! (All songs must be performed to be considered a part of the contest -- it's half the fun, after all.)
Boffing Tournament: Also new to ConBust this year is our boffing tournament. We have a boffing workshop/war, so we figured -- why not a tournament? Come bring your own weapon or use one of ours and kick some butt!
Boffing War: Picture several dozen screaming con attendees waving around duct tape and pvc pipe-weapons at eachother in a massive melee on a big field and you have ConBust's annual boffing war, guaranteed to rock your socks off.
Video Game Tournaments: ConBust will be running a series of various video game competitions. More information will be posted prior to the con.
The Smithee Awards: The Smithee Awards are back, by popular demand! After all, what's better than watching terrible B-rated movies in a big room with tons of other people? We think nothing!
