Smith Hillel is a vibrant community which always welcomes new members. Everyone is invited to join in weekly Friday night services, or stop by the student run Kosher Co-op for a home cooked kosher dairy, vegan/vegatarian dinner on Friday Nights. Also, all students are welcome to get kosher food from Cutter/Ziskind which serves kosher food weekdays during lunch and dinner.

Smith Hillel also offers a number of unique oppurtunities and special services throughout the year. Sevices include Rosh Hoshanah, Yom Kippur, and several others. Other events include the Five-College Jewish Formal, a Purim party, a Chanukah party, and a Second Night Passover Seder.

About our weekly events:

Friday night services: These services are held in the Dewey Common Room at 5:15pm.
These services are student led, and depending on the week are either reform, conservative, or learners' which has explanative narration provided throughout.

Weekly dinners at the kosher co-op (the K): Every Friday after services (at 7:00pm if you don't go to services) students cook a kosher dairy, vegan/vegatarian dinner. Blessings are said before the meal, and meals are followed by singing (optional).
The K is located behind Dawes House (On Bedford Terrace, Lower Elm Street). To get to the K follow the path on the down-hill side of Dawes House. There should be a sign.

Havdalah services: Weekly Havdalah services (to signify the end of the sabbath) are held around sundown on Saturdays. Specific times and locations announced .
