Welcome to Smith Hillel
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. If you have any questions please follow the contact link on the left.
Smith Hillel is a vibrant community which always welcomes new members. Everyone is invited to join in weekly Friday night services, or stop by the student run Kosher Co-op for a home cooked kosher dairy, vegan/vegatarian dinner on Friday Nights. Also, all students are welcome to get kosher food from Cutter/Ziskind which serves kosher food weekdays during lunch and dinner.
Smith Hillel also offers a number of unique oppurtunities and special services throughout the year. Services include Rosh Hoshanah, Yom Kippur, and several others. Other events include the Five-College Jewish Formal, a Purim party, a Chanukah party, and a Second Night Passover Seder.
About our weekly events:
Friday night services: These student led services are held in the Dewey Common Room at 5:15pm.
Weekly dinners at the kosher co-op (the K): Every Friday after services (at 7:00pm) students cook a kosher dairy, vegan/vegatarian dinner. Blessings are said before the meal, and meals are followed by singing (optional).
The K is located behind Dawes House (On Bedford Terrace, Lower Elm Street). To get to the K follow the path on the down-hill side of Dawes House. There should be a sign.
