The annual Korean American Students Conference (KASCON) is the largest ethnic-specific students conference in the United States. Originating at Princeton University in 1987, KASCON will be in its twenty-third year running and will be held at the University of Pennsylvania this year in 2009. Some confirmed seminar speakers include James Sun, a finalist on NBC's The Apprentice and also founder of zoodango.com; Justin Chon, actor in box office hit, Twilight; James Ryu, founder and editor-in-chief of KoreAm Journal; and Paull Shin, Washington State senator. The keynote speaker will be Michelle Rhee, Chancellor of Washington D.C. public schools.
