History

Southeast Asian Alliance is an official organization at Smith College. It was established and chartered in 2007.

Mission

The organization aims to increase the awareness of current issues in Southeast Asia and to serve as a supportive resource for Smith students who are interested in learning more about this region. The organization sponsors at least one event every semester with the purpose of bringing cultural, political and economic consciousness of Southeast Asian countries.

Membership

Membership to this organization is open to all students at Smith College regardless of race, national origin, creed, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age and/or disability. Members of the organization will be referred to as the "general body". Those members of the general body who attend and/or participate in two-thirds of the events sponsored and/or arranged by the organization and have an 80% attendance to the general body meetings are considered "active members".
