SGA Van Certification

Every time SCEMS is on duty, two people are on call: a First Responder and an Emergency Medical Technician. Because we use a SGA van to get around campus in case of a call, at least one person on call must be SGA van certified. It's important that whoever is on call double checks that either the First Responder or the EMT is van certified.

The qualifications to become SGA van certified are the following:

  • 18+ years old

  • At least one year of licensed-driver experience (learner's permit does not count)

  • No at-fault accidents or no more than two moving violations in the past three years
  • The Fall Semester SGA van certification session dates are: TBA. Sessions begin at 12.15pm and end at 12.45pm, and they take place in the Campus Center. It is necessary to either bring your driver's license or a copy of your license.

The SGA van website has more information about getting certified and everything in between.
