SCEMS is a team of First Responders (FRs) and Emergency Medical Technicians Basics (EMT-Bs). First Responders have 24 hours of training in First Aid and American Heart Association CPR. EMT-Bs have about 130 hours of classroom and practical training, and are certified by the state of Massachusetts. EMT-Bs are qualified to work with certain ambulance companies, such as Am-B-Care. Many SCEMS members are pre-med students who want to gain medical experience and skills before applying to medical school. Many of us are interested in emergency preparedness and training, and some of us just want to help others or get involved in campus life. We welcome squad members of any kind! If you're interested in becoming certified (and maybe eventually joining SCEMS), you can take a class with us. Once you are certified, we'll ask you whether you want to join SCEMS, and add you to our mailing list. Members are generally expected to be on call 3-4 times a semester. Our squad list is below. The asterisk (*) denotes SCEMS Executive Board (E-Board) Members.
