Who We Are

SCEMS is a team of First Responders (FRs) and Basic Emergency Medical Tecnicians (EMT-Bs). First Responders have 24 hours of training in First Aid and American Heart Association CPR. EMT-Bs have 120 hours of classroom and practical training, and are certified by the state of Massachusetts. EMT-Bs are qualified to work with ambulance companies, such as Am-B-Care.

Many SCEMS members are pre-med students who want to gain medical experience and skills before applying to medical school. Many of us are interested in emergency preparedness and training, and some of us just want to help others or get involved in campus life. We welcome squad members of any kind!

If you're interested in becoming certified (and maybe eventually joining SCEMS), you can take a class with us. After you get certified, we'll ask you whether you want to join SCEMS, and add you to our mailing list! Members are generally expected to be on call 3-4 times a semester.

Our squad list is below. The asterisk (*) denotes SCEMS Board Members.
