The Smith College Investment Club (formerly the Smith Student Investment Club) was launched in Fall 2002 under the sponsorship of Women & Financial Independence. The goals of the club are twofold: to give Smith students the opportunity for hands-on experience with investing, and to make a positive financial contribution to the Smith community.

The Smith College Investment Club is run by its student members, who are responsible for managing and investing an endowment of over $100,000. Club members meet on a regular basis to discuss asset allocation, analyze fund performance and decide how to successfully operate a well-diversified portfolio. Any earnings are donated to Smith College Financial Aid and to the Student Government Association for campus-wide activities.

SCIC sponsors on-campus lectures by financial professionals and off-campus trips to Wall Street and beyond. The Club welcomes all interested students! Watch this space for more information about SCIC’s 2004-2005 plans.
