Board Structure
Co-Chairs:
Responsible for organization of the meetings and overseeing collaborations with other queer organizations. Must communicate and check in with all board members and committee heads to ensure smooth operation and upkeep of morale.
Treasurer:
Keep track of all financial matters of the organization and work with the board to fairly allocate funds for projects and committees.
Secretary:
Responsible for meeting minutes and working with co-chairs for the correct completion of any necessary paperwork.
Fundraiser/Publicity:
Responsible for the coordination of chalking and the creation.distribution of fliers. Delegates tasks for and organizes fundraising events. Works with the secretary to fulfill all necessary paperwork for fundraising events.
Historian/Webtender:
Responsible for the upkeep of the Spectrum website (needs html experience or experience with building webpages). Organizaing the scrapbook and the compilation of any other possible historic documents. Can be separate positions.
Committee Heads:
Will work closely with individuals who are interested in any of the designated committees or ad-hoc committees. The committee heads will be responsible for the organization and facilitation of any projects related to their designated committee and can.will communicated progress and ideas to the board concerning any projects.
Sex, Health, & Safety:
This committee will work on projects/events concerning safe sex, body issues, healthy living, and any particular concern brought to the attention of Spectrum and the board.
5-College Liaison:
This committee will work to keep the Smith community better connected to the 5-college community and the Western Massachusetts community by notifying the Smith community of related events outside of Smith and assisting with publicity outside Smith.
Faculty/Academic Liaison:
This committee will assist with informing the faculty at Smith about Spectrum events on campus and attempt to form a working relationship with faculty and academic departments as to assist in bringing guest speakers and facilitation certain discussions of possible sensitive subjects. Additionally to attempt/help to accumulate additional resources for the organization.
