National SWE Mission Statement

"The Society of Women Engineers stimulates women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expands the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrates the value of diversity."

Purpose of the Smith Chapter:

1) To spread awareness about engineering to the Smith and local communities.
2) To improve the overall quality of the experience of the Smith engineering community through a supportive environment.
3) To facilitate a connection between Smith engineers and the national professional organization of the Society of Women Engineers.

About the Smith Chapter:

The Smith SWE is a student-run organization that hosts numerous professional, community, and social activities throughout the year. There are many opportunities to work with fellow engineers outside the classroom setting, reach out into the community, and make new friends. Come to our meetings and find out about all the wonderful things that Smith SWE has to offer. There are open Board Meetings every Tuesday evening at 5:30 in Chase/Duckett Dining Hall, and several General Body Meetings throughout the year.
