Maria Vorontsova (1737-1765) was the wife of senator Petr Buturlin (1734-1787). Their son Dmitrii (1763-1829), after the early death of his mother, was brought up and educated in the house of his uncle, Alexander Vorontsov. Dmitri, a man of great learning and a well-known bibliophile, was director of the Imperial Hermitage.
