all right, kiddos, i've gotten the mini-comics back from the print shop. all that remains is to cut, staple, and send them. i'll drop them in the mail over the next couple of days. any donations you'd like to make to the Art Fund are, of course, welcome. :)

c-dog: i wouldn't call them "good art", but if you like what you see (and, more to the point, think they would actually sell), let me know and i'll make some more copies.

send me comics! If you want to I can even try to sell some additions for you at a place here called Reading Frenzy. Good art is hard to find in Portland. Zines, comics, and basement hardcore shows however...I don't know your email address so I'm throwing this out there for all y'all blog kids.

ooh! me! i want to read it. since i had such attachment problems last time, try sending it to carolinekmoore AT yahoo DOT com instead.

i've been inspired recently to draw a series of low-budget mini-comics. basically, they're brief chronicles of real events that've happened to me or to people i know. if anyone's interested in reading them, let me know (and make sure i have your mailing address). there are two in production form and two more in draft form.

speaking of brief chronicles of real events: i was in DC last weekend for the True Spirit Conference and thus got to witness the total shutdown of our capital city due to snow. it was fun, in that "i have no hotel room and no access to food except cheap pizza in Union Station and i've got a wicked fever and snotty cold" way. perhaps the adventure will become another mini-comic.

I think posted a long time ago asking if anyone wanted to read a project I'd been working on... I've been tinkering with it a lot in the last few days and now I'm looking to send it out for a second round of comments. If anybody's interested just let me know, any comments will be greatly appreciated.

BERLIN (Reuters) - A flock of hungry ravens killed 19 sheep grazing on snow-covered fields in southern Germany, raising the uneasy feeling that the killer birds of Alfred Hitchcock's famous thriller "The Birds" have come alive.

"This is what art does, this is what Goya's paintings did, what writers who write about war, Erich Maria Remarque's "All Quiet on the Western Front," movies, the poetry of e.e. cummings and Wilfred Owen. Art is a substitute for personal experience. It can bring people close to an experience even though they've never had the experience and almost make them feel how it really was. We've got to use art in every possible way to bring home to people what the war would be like."
-- Howard Zinn, historian, in interview with AlterNet.
