Hi, everyone!
This is the beginning of a long web-story devoted to my year abroad - both in Geneva and in Puerto Rico.. Sorry for the messiness of this initial page - I promise it will get better and neater..
And so far - enjoy the first pictures that I had time to scan (right after my Spanish exam!)
Here's a picture I've taken
on my last day in San Juan - with Alex, the owner of the best sandwich place
in the world!! Everyone, if you ever find yourself in Puerto Rico, make sure
you stop by Pinky's... I am actually thinking of making my way down to the Carribean
just for that... Alex was one of the first people I've met in San Juan - and
he was a perfect example of Carribean hospitality and friendliness...and (why
hold that back?) - of the Carribean male beauty. :o)
Ok, Ok , well, may be,
this is not my most modest picture - but hey, it reminds me of one of the funnest
days of my stay in PR. This was a Sunday, and my friend Esteban took me to this
gourgeous island Culebra, about two hours away from PR.. I thought I've seen
beautiful places before, but that island's beauty was just breathtaking...
And here's the picture
taken during the Bacardi Salsa Congress... what an event that was!!!...
Here
you can see me with Clara and Greg...By the way, we really didn't plan to be
all dressed in red in black...
Here are some of our
best memories of the Congress... The guys from New Jersey who saw us, depressed
by the overall phenomenality of the dancers, an who asked us to dance despite
our modest talents.. :o) If not for them, I wouldn't have had ANY fun ot the
Congreso (or at least very little). :o) And, in addition to being amazing dancers,
they are great people...
OK, this picture
almost makes me shed some tears... These are PeeWee and Jayson, guys that I've
met only ten days before leaving Puerto Rico but who will nevertheless stay
in my memory forever.. I don't think I've met many people as special as they
are...
One night during my stay
in San Juan I came home from work, sat down im my hammock (the only piece of
furniture in my appartment) and sort of dozed off for a while... but when I
looked out of the window at the wall across the street, it was bright pink...
I immediately grabbed my camera and ran to the beach to take some picture of
what was one of the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen.. Unfortunaely, film
cannot quite capture the blinks in the clouds, the sound of waves splashing
into the shore and the reflection of the skies in the sea, making the water
look like cranberry syrop...
