The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence offers great information, many facts sheets to develop awareness (by age group), as well as resources for advocacy and treatment.

The U. S. Department of Education's Higher Education Center for Alcohol and other Substance Abuse Prevention offers programs, links, publications and some grant connections.

Treatment 

CSAT's Treatment Improvement Series offers information on treatment of many substance-involved populations, from pregnant women to HIV+ populations, to older people in many settings (inpatient, outpatient, jails). Also includes strong information and literature on screening tools, brief treatment and several treatment models.

The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence lists affiliated treatment programs, has a Committee on Treatment Benefits which examines effectiveness.

The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry offers a list of Questions to ask about Substance abuse Treatment for Children and Adolescents.
