This is Dad when he came to visit me at Smith in the fall of 1999.
Well, I've been told that my father and I are very similar--and I'm truly flattered by the comparison. My dad is the hardest working, most devoted, most spunky and most intelligent man I know. He and I are both very interested in the field of psychology, and he is the only person who has ever left me truly speechless with his explanation of a situation from a psychological perspective. And trust me, leaving ME speechless is quite an accomplishment--I'm generally pretty stubborn and ornery. Anyway, suffice it to say that he is an extremely bright fellow who remains remarkably good-natured throughout some of life's most challenging experiences.
Dad loves fishing and working on the numerous projects he has going
around the home. He has a couple of boats and a cabin in Tenakee Springs;
and he recently built a really amazing kayak that works! Dad does
everything from fix cars to build additions onto the house--is there
anything this man can't do? Not to mention that my daddy makes the most
amazing smoked salmon that I've ever had. I suppose that someday when I'm
older and live on my own I will be told the secret of the sauce.
:)

My dad is my biggest fan--just like he's the biggest fan of every child in
our house. He is incredibly supportive of his children (all seven of
them!) and can be found at most high school arts functions videotaping
madly. Dad has sacrificed for and supported me as long as I can remember,
and that devotion alone has probably been the biggest factor contributing
to my development. I remember phone calls from him as he drove home from
work asking if I needed books picked up from the library in fourth and
fifth grade. After that, he shuttled me to play practice, extra class
periods, brought me food, videotaped my every performance...you get the
idea. Now, my dad is the unofficial Dad of Mucho Mojo. He
is so supportive of our group, and each member is eternally grateful. I
don't know what I would do without my dad, or how I would have turned out
in the absence of his unfailing support. I'm thankful to this guy for
just about everything, from my brains to my slight tendency toward
exaggeration to my musical abilities. Thanks, Dad! You're the
best.
You can drop David a line and let him know what you're up to! I'm sure he'll have plenty of great stories to share.
