Elephants

Large Teeth not Ears!

Elephants get six sets of molars during their lifetime. The molars are large and have ridges that are used to grind food. As a tooth wears down, it is pushed toward the front of the elephants mouth and another molar surfaces in the back of the elephant's mouth.

This process continues until all six replacement molars have appeared. As an elephant gets older, its ability to grind food declines with age. Once the last molar wears out, the elephant is incapable of chewing its food and will die from starvation or malnutrition.
