ASSEMBLY #17 MEETING MINUTES

As published in the M.U.M. magazine.

MINUTES FROM MEETING
FRIDAY, MARCH 6TH, 2009

After a very brief business meeting in which one announcement by Leonard Nadeau was made to members who had ordered new assembly #17 shirts with our updated logo, "Shirts will be available at our next meeting"- We met for Coin night. Members were asked to bring any coin effect or story to the meeting.

PJ Pinsonnault brought out his Liberty Silver dollars for an amazing Matrix effect while producing them from thin air. He related a story that during a "walk around" wedding that a man who had a few too many had taken them. Quickly, he had to come up with a line that his grandfather had given him the coins to get the spectator to return them and has used ever since.

Jeff Pyzchoa presented his version of Andrew Mayne's Ghost Bills. He announced that he was to audition for America's Got Talent. (update was he has made it to the taped round).

Many members "flipped" over some of the coin effects brought by Tom Gentile. He presented many sets of dice and coins in a case to present Kevin Menard's 'three and one half". From the "what is old is new again" philosophy he truly amazed the younger members with a "Mysterious Panel Board" which made coins just disappear! He presented one of assembly #104 SAMCON Convention lucky coin-penny. If thought defected could be returned for another (for a $1 handling fee). He had some Holden palming coins. A Dave Cresey 25th anniversary coin came out next. Truly spectacular were his New York Centennial Convention Jay Marshall set of coins-one of which is stamped "100". Of all presented- his pride and joy were the 1993 convention commemorative coins inspired by a M.U.M. article that he submitted to Dean (then President) George Schindler which were photos of father and son-Harry Blackstone Jr and Sr to be used for the coins.

Later on more magic was happening as Ed Kazar and Joe Bongio worked with Conrad McIntire and Leonard Nadeau to work out some new kinks in his "chain through the neck" routine.

President Rich Gilbert showed us his "No Comment" routine. A good time was had by all. Come by and "Visit for a Spell". First Friday of the month-September-June at the Grand Meadows Tennis Club 170 Dwight Road-Longmeadow or www.assembly17.org

STOP BY AND "VISIT FOR A SPELL"...
