Final Project:Image One
Final Project Proposal
Inspiration- For this project, my ideas originated from multiple artistic sources. First, I really love Chuck Close and a lot of pop art. I also wanted to visual represent something or someone in a way that is not easily realistic, and instead, morphed and unclear. To do this I want to start off this project with a portrait that is completely composed of small, smooth circles. The first impression I want to give off is that this individual has a clear understanding of his or herself, up to the last minuscule detail. Then I would like the viewer to have the power, by just the click of a mouse, to morph their face. Essentially, I would like the viewer to experience changing someone to the point that it is impossible to make out what that individual originally looked like.
Concept- I have several people in mind at the moment for the actual portrait. Each circle or shape would be a different color and together it would form an actual, realistic looking person. In addition to pixilation, I would also engage in the idea of distortion. The piece would be able to morph and change in relation to where the user puts the mouse and how they click it.
Action- For this project I will be using Processing for both the visual and motion aspects of this work.
Dates-
April 23: Find picture of subject and study him or her several times on paper in order to plan for the image that will be on processing
By the end of April 27th: Have completed the portrait on processing.
Week of April 27th: Develop the code that will be used to distort the image.
Weekend of May 3rd: Review, work on any issues concerning the project.
