Independent Work Assignment

Part 1: Word. "The Country I Come From"

Part 2: Search the Web for images.

Part 3: Inserting images in your Word document.

What you do today: make a short presentation in Word about the country you come from. Search the Web for images that would make your presentation more convincing. Insert them into your document. .





Part 1. Word.

Create a presentation on a topic that interests you. If you do not have a favorite topic to talk about, I suggest you talk about the country you come from. Make it about one page long, and use all the features you learned in the morning lab to make it pleasant to the eye: use a variety of fonts, styles, colors and sizes, and experiment with other features, if you like. for instance, you may insert a table with some interesting data about your country (e.g., the main cities and how big they are, the ethnic foods and what their ingredients are, a table of main historical events, etc.)



Part 2. Search the Web.

Do a Net Search on the topic you have chosen for your presentation. When you reach interesting sites, save them as bookmarks to make it easy to come back later. Select a few images for your presentation.



Part 3. Images.

Using FlashIt!, take snapshots of the images you found and insert them in your presentation. Make it as nice and interesting as you can, but remember that we will come back later and learn more tools for making it even nicer and interesting.
