Danny Forger at UMass 4 p.m. September 27, 2011

Danny Forger from the University of Michigan will be speaking September 27 at 4PM at UMass in room 222 Morrill (South). His talk is entitled, “Predicting the Multi-Scale Nature of Circadian Timekeeping.”

Danny is a mathematician who models transcriptional regulation, particularly as it pertains to feedback loops in the context of rhythmicity. His most recent work includes findings that noise — variability in rate constants, for example, or perhaps even ion or temperature fluxes that occur during normal cell function — may be important in sustaining normal feedback relationships and oscillations.
