New REU at the U of Pittsburgh: “Engineering Tools for Decision Support in Systems Medicine”

Newly funded Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) site at the University of Pittsburgh with a focus on “Engineering Tools for Decision Support in Systems Medicine”. We are interested in bringing outstanding undergraduate students to Pittsburgh to work on primarily computational, and some experimental, problems in the field of Systems Medicine, or translational systems biology. Though the program is housed in an Engineering department, the mentor team includes computational biologists and clinicians in addition to engineers and mathematicians. We are looking for an equally diverse pool of students interested to work with our mentors and graduate students on basic and translational science problems for the societal good. For more information, please visit the program website (including on-line application) at http://granular.che.pitt.edu/SMREU/
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Robert S. Parker at rparker@pitt.edu or sysmedreu@gmail.com.
