Teaching

I have been a Math Tutor since attending James Madison University for students ranging from 3rd grade to parents returning to finish college. Then starting at Wake Forest University, I learned to work with larger groups of students as a Teaching Assistant and to encourage them to help each other.  At Bryn Mawr College, I was lucky to participate in a Perspectives in Mathematics Pedagogy course and to complete the requirements for the Dean’s Certificate in Pedagogy. As a Teaching Assistant at Bryn Mawr, I was honored with the Doris Sill Carland Prize for Excellence in Teaching for my work.

Since graduating from Bryn Mawr College, I’ve taught at Pennsylvania State University Abington. I am now teaching at Smith College and still learning from the students, faculty, and from the Sherrered Center for Teaching & Learning.

For details on my teaching philosophy see my Teaching Statement.
