Add Images
Objective
Add an image from the web, your computer, or the Media Library to a page or post.
Who can do this?
Anyone who can post content (Administrator, Editor, Editor Plus and Authors can add and publish posts. Contributors can add but not publish posts.)
Step-by-step
Adding Images from your computer or the image library:
- Create a new page or post, or edit an existing page or post.
- Place the cursor where you would like your image to appear.
- Click on Add Media above the menu bar.
- An image uploader window will pop up. Choose whether you want to use an image from your computer using Upload Files or an image already uploaded to your Media Library.
- Files can be dragged and dropped into the window, or use Select Files to upload a file from your computer.
- 6. To the right of the image uploader, you can change the settings for your image. When you’re done click on Insert into Post.
Adding Images from the Web
Warning: Because these images are hosted on another website, if the image is changed or deleted on that site, it may no show up properly on your blog.
- Create a new page or post, or edit an existing page or post.
- Place the cursor where you would like your image to appear.
- Click on Add Media above the menu bar.
- In the image uploader window that opens, select Insert from URL in the left column.
- Paste the image url (should begin with http://) into the first field and add a Title if you want.
- Below the image, you can customize the settings for this image. When you’re done, click on Insert into post.
Uploading Image to the Media Library
- Go to Media → Add New.
- Files can be dragged and dropped into the window, or use Select Files to upload a file from your computer.
