Working with Images


Editing images within the Media Library and working with images in posts and pages.

Who can do this?

Anyone who can edit the relevant page or post content.


Working with Images from Within the Media Library

1. Go to Media  Add New.

2. Click on the Image Name.

3. From here you can edit settings like Caption and Description. To edit the image itself, click on Edit Image.Screen Shot 2014-09-18 at 3.03.52 PM

To revert an edits made to an image and restore the image originally uploaded to the Media Library, use the Restore Original Image button.

Cropping means to remove parts of an image that you do not want.

Use the mouse to click and drag in order to select which part of the image you want to keep. Click on the drop button (highlighted below) once satisfied with the selection.

Images can be rotated clockwise or counterclockwise using the two buttons highlighted below.Screen Shot 2014-09-18 at 3.23.11 PM


You can flip an image horizontally or vertically using the two buttons highlighted below.Screen Shot 2014-09-18 at 3.23.24 PM


You can proportionally scale any original image in your Media Library. Images can only be scaled smaller, not larger. Scaling should be done before any other editing.

 Working with Images from Within A Post

  1. Clicking on an image within a post will allow you to edit it.
  2. Click and drag the white squares to resize the image within the post. Screen Shot 2014-10-03 at 4.12.49 PM
  3. From here, you can change the settings for your image. When you’re done click on Update.Screen Shot 2014-10-03 at 4.16.34 PM

Image Settings

You can edit the following media information:

Title: Title of the media

Caption: A caption that will appear under the image.

Alt Text: Alternate text used to describe the media.

Description: A description of the media.
