“Border Crossings” is the theme of this issue of Global Impressions. Nine of the eleven pieces here are videos created by students or alumnae who have experienced both the richness and the sense of dislocation that comes from moving between cultures, whether through study abroad or through transitioning from a home culture to Smith College. Border crossing is always complicated and is often difficult, but each of these pieces shows that it can also lead to growth, wisdom and pleasure.
