Haniya Aslam ’02 is taking part in an initiative to bring foreign performers to the United States.
The Center Stage initiative is a pilot program that will bring international performing artists to tour the United States in 2012. Artists from Haiti, Indonesia, and Pakistan will participate in month-long tours that include public and school performances as well as lectures, demonstrations, workshops, and artist-to-artist exchanges. Aslam will be participating in the initiative with Mount Holyoke graduate Zeb Bangash. The two singer-songwriters live in Pakistan and perform global music as Zeb & Haniya.
