Praxis interns share their stories

As summer ends and students return to campus, stories about Praxis internships return to campus as well.

Administered by the Career Development Office, the Praxis program allows sophomores and juniors access to a one-time stipend of up to $3,500 that can be used to participate in a summer internship.

Kelsey “Kat” Black ’13, recently wrote a piece for the Grécourt Gate News about her Praxis experience in Panama, where she attended the “Panama: Biodiversity in the Tropics” study abroad program and gained experience in biodiversity, sustainability, and conservation.

Fellow rising junior Elizabeth Biddle ’13 also wrote about her Praxis internship for the Gate. Biddle, who lives in Hong Kong, spent June interning at the St. Regis Resort in Lhasa, Tibet where she worked long days interning in all of the resort’s departments.

More than 400 students receive Praxis stipends each year.  Students work both in the United States and abroad in fields such as government, health care, education, research, science, and the arts.  Praxis interns gain valuable work experience and are able to further develop their own career goals.
