More than 120 international students were on campus for the International Students’ Preorientation last week. In addition to a busy schedule of workshops and trips, Smith’s newest South Asian students visited the Alumnae House to meet staff and enjoy some tea. Trustee Mona Sinha ’88 joined the students to share her experience as an international Smithie and to serve as a resource for new students.
The students, who hailed from India, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka, were excited about being on campus and hoped to take advantage of all Smith has to offer, including studying abroad, participating in theatre and dance classes, making international connections, and becoming strong, independent women.
