I had a profile as an interesting conceptual artist, and then after feminism, my position upset a lot of opinion-makers. They weren’t helpful…. Susan Hiller is an American-born artist who has lived and worked in London since the early 1970’s. She graduated from Smith College in 1961 and completed post-graduate study at Tulane University. Her art includes combination of video, photography, performance, and writing. Hiller’s solo exhibitions have included shows worldwide from Tate Britain in London to the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco. Hiller’s The Last Silent Movie is also featured in the Smith College Museum of Art.
