The Smith Travel program has released its preliminary 2012 trip schedule. Alumnae are invited to participate in one of nearly 30 trips that are scheduled to visit everywhere from Buenos Aires to Vietnam.
Smith Travel trips not only expose travelers to diverse locations, they also explore a wide-range of interests. In January 2012, alumnae travelers can explore Puebla: Mexico’s Colonial Center of Crafts and Culture, while those on Professor of Philosophy Jay Garfield’s trip to the Himalayan Kingdoms will visit Tibet, Nepal, and Bhutan.
Smith Travel is also open to the family and friends of alumnae. A family trip to China is planned for July 2012, and will be headed by Sabina Knight, Associate Professor of Chinese and comparative literature.
All Smith Travel programs include lectures and discussions with a Smith lecturer or host, the services of a tour director or experienced local guide, accommodations, and the like. Travelers are expected to pay their own passport and visa fees and obtain personal travel insurance. Full details can be found online on Smith Travel’s page for Important Information.
