This June, Smith College President Carol T. Christ visited Hong Kong, Nanjing, Shanghai, Taipei, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Beijing. As part of her visit, President Christ participated in a number of interviews with newspapers and television shows.
At the end of her tour, President Christ appeared on the China Central Television (CCTV) 9 show Dialogue, hosted by Yang Rui. Yang Rui is the producer and anchor of the 30-minute current-affairs talk show, which is in English and is the highest rated show on CCTV-News.
The interview, Women’s Equality: A Daunting Task, explores the role of women in politics and aired on August 27. It can now be viewed online.
