Today, while visiting Mount of Olives, we were surprised to see a camel parked right in front of the historic cemetery. After hearing the history of the entire area, and seeing a great view of Jerusalem, we returned to our waiting taxis to head to our next stop. However, both Natalie and I were intrigued by the idea of the camel (even though I have indeed been on one before), and we decided we wanted a picture with it. After deciding on a price (I said 20 shekels, no more; she was willing to go higher), he offered us the ride together for only 20 shekels. Problem solved! It was very interesting that one of our cab drivers told us that he had been charged 45 shekels- what a sucker!

Great pictures. Are you going to ship the camel back to Smith?
Wish we could! The best part was that his name was Qaddafi. Bet Smith would love to have that on its campus!
