Two Steams Zen

Two Streams Zen is a public charity consisting of two temples in Western Massachusetts. These include Body-Mind Temple (ShinJinJi) in Northampton and Peaceful Dragon Home Temple (AnRyuJi) in Westhampton. The former is guided by Anraku Sensei in the lineage of Taizan Maezumi Roshi, while the latter is guided by Ryūmon Sensei in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi. Each temple offers various events including but not limited to weekly Zazen (seated meditations) at Body-Mind and monthly moon Zazenkai (group Zen mediation and communal work) at Peaceful Dragon. Both temples are non-residential.

The two temples often come together to offer courses such as “B-Coming Ur Own BFF,” events for social activists including “white-on-white” gatherings, and contemplative somatic wellness retreats. At times, they also host guests including Grammy Award winning vocalist Evelyn Harris, and activist/ author of “Survivors on the Yoga Mat,” Becky Thompson. Students of Two Streams can also request one-on-one meditation sessions with Anraku or Ryūmon. In keeping with Buddhist tradition, all teachings are offered free of charge. That said, most students offer Dāna (donations) to the teachers. Donations can be provided online or in person.

Both temples are easily accessible through the use of GPS. While Peaceful Dragon is rural, Body-Mind is located in the heart of Northampton and is surrounded by multiple restaurants and popular local destinations. More information on the temples, their locations, and their respective teachers is listed on the Two Streams website: http://www.twostreamszen.org.
