Mahasiddha Nyingmapa Center was started by Kyabje Dodrupchen Rinpoche and a small group of Buddhist practitioners in 1973 who decided to take refuge and accept him as their root Lama. They follow Longchen Nyingthig tradition of Nyingma and receive teachings from Kyabje Dodrupchen Rinpoche who visits every year or two. Rinpoche had given extensive teachings on Ngon Dro and Guru Yoga early on which serve as the main practice at Mahasiddha Nyimapa center. With Rinpoche, the students built a small Guru Lhakhang Temple which was later burned and rebuilt. They also built the first Changchub Chorten (བྱང་ཆུབ་མཆོད་རྟེན་) in America which was directed and built by Rinpoche himself with the students. In the subsequent years, Rinpoche gave empowerments of the Nyingthig Tsa Pod, Nyingthig Yabzhi, and other wangs. This organization aims to keep a small group of dedicated students rather than a large group. Therefore, at the moment, they have 50 members, most of who have been members for many years. They pride in themselves for practicing out of joy than out of obligation.

They practice Ngon Dro sessions with chanting and meditation every Saturday at 8am and Sunday at 9:30am. They do not have regular instructor, but Tulku Thondup visits couple of times a year. Anyone interested in Ngon Dro sessions are welcomed at this center. They do not charge for events but donations are welcome. Currently, it is mostly supported by membership dues. They are located at 47 East Road, Hawley, MA, a rural location. It is not a residential center and only the caretaker lives there.
