RAPE AWARENESS WORKSHOPS (RAW) Beginning in the early 1990’s, members of the Smith College faculty, staff, and student body organized Rape Awareness Workshops to help educate young women about rape. These workshops focused on several different issues, ranging from myths and realities about rapes, to precautions to take to minimize one’s risk for being raped, to what to do if a friend or loved one is raped, to how the U.S. and Massachusetts court systems handle rape cases. The workshops were open to all faculty, staff, and students.
