Research emerging college and pro-eSports teams as a competitive arena.

  • Do eSports help the combat toxicity of representation of women in this industry, in games, and as users in the gaming culture? What types of games do these teams play?
  • Does the competitiveness of the eSports “environment” amplify the toxicity in the gaming culture?  If so, why? Is it due to the types of games that define the playing field?
  • Colleges are offering scholarships for eSports (research this). Does this present more opportunities for men to women due to the nature of the games in this sport? And the discriminatory nature of the industry and culture as a whole?
  • Companies are looking at doing pro-eSports teams and events. Is it realistic for Smith to start an eSports team? Interested?
