First National Y-Teen Conference

Though the YWCA of the USA has been doing work with teens and girls for over 130 years, November 1956 marked the first national conference of Y-Teens. The conference was an important event in helping teens find their voice and empower themselves to effect change. It strengthened the role of youth in the organization and is a powerful example of the value of young voices in community, national, and international matters.
