I would definitely recommend this book to other Japanese 1 students. It is easy enough to read, with only some minor grammar points I didn’t understand, and I knew much of the vocabulary as well. It is a heartwarming story with some very beautiful and unique illustrations.
この本はおもしろくて、少しこわよかったです。おじいさんはやさしいです、でもおばあさんはやさしくないです。かわいい雀があります．この本は親密でとても大事です。たくさんきれいな色がおあります。
This book was interesting, and a little scary. The old man was nice, but the grandma wasn’t. There is a cute bird too. In this book, friendships is very important. There are a lot of pretty colors.
This is a very interesting book to read, would recommend this to anyone who likes folktales. The story is easy to read, with a couple of words to look up. The kanji we already know most from past lessons. 
この本はとてもよかったです。それは多くの単語を持っています。読むのがとても簡単でした。文章はすごく容易でした。
I would recommend this book. It is a very famous Japanese folktale. I have read it in English before, and it is very interesting to read the Japanese version. It had a very manageable vocabulary and sentence structure, I barely had to look up any words at all. It was very easy to follow the story. The story itself is an interesting tale reminiscent of other folktales from around the world, like the fisherman’s wife or Pandora’s box.
このものがたりはとても有名ですね。子供の時母から聞きました。簡単ですが、面白いと思います。
This short story is about how wind and sun were having a little competition. The content is very easy but it is quite interesting. It is a very quick read I don’t think anyone would encounter any problems with it. However I would suggest people to read something more closely related to Japanese tradition since this tale is globally known.
古事記は日本の昔から話です。神話なので、たくさん神様がいます。古い話ですから、とても変ですが、とても面白いと思います。この本の中で、「日本の国の始まり」や「死の国」や他の話があります。天照は私の一番好きな古事記のキャラクターです。天照は太陽の神様だけでなく、天照は日本の神話によって日本の天皇の祖先で信じられています。時々古事記は他の国の神話みたいです。時々古事記は他の国の神話と比べて、とても違います。そして、古事記はとても面白いです。日本と他の国の神話やれきしや文化が好きな人達は古事記をよんだほうがいいと思います。
I recommend this book to anyone who likes learning about the mythology, history and culture of Japan or any other countries. It is not very hard to read, even though sometimes the stories can be very strange because they are so old, so that is a little confusing. However, the pictures help a lot and the stories are really interesting. Please read this excerpted version of the Kojiki to learn more about the mythology of Japan!
もともと、舌切り雀のお話を読んだことありますが、これとちょっと違います。太宰治の本「お伽草紙」で「舌切雀」を読みました。でも、このバーションは優しいです。「舌切り雀」は日本のとても有名な物語です、ぜひ読みましょう。
This book is a famous folktale in Japan about a old man and a sparrow. Originally, I read another version of this story in a book called お伽草紙 by Dazai Osamu. I don’t know which one is the correct version, but this one is less cruel. I recommend this book if you want to know more about traditional Japanese folktales.
そのストーリーは ほのぼのな お正月のものがたりです。おおみそかに、おばあさんと おじいさんは お金がないから、いい お正月の食べものは なにも作れません。私は「とても たいへんで、ざんねんですね。」と思いました。二人は 食べもののために たくさん がんばりましたが、食べものを買うのが むすざしいんです。でも、一月一日に とくべつな プレゼントを もらいます。
四ページに、日本の じぞうの スタチューが あって、じしょに とてもおもしろいいみを 見つけました。じぞうは 子どもと 旅行する人を まもるお寺さんです。そのいみが わかる時、ものがたりが わかって、好きなストーリーに なりました。読んでください！
この本の中に二つの物語があって、最初のは「耳なし芳一」と言う話で、二つ目のは「梅津忠兵衛の話し」という物語です。面白くないというわけではないが、怖いというわけでもないのでちょっとがっかりしました。「耳なし芳一」と言う話で、目が見えない琵琶を弾く人は幽霊のため演奏してしまいます。「梅津忠兵衛の話し」と比べるとちょっと怖くて、本当のゴースト・ストーリーの雰囲気があるけど、読無と多分驚かさないと思います。「梅津忠兵衛の話し」と言う話で、武士の人は夜中に赤ちゃんを抱いている女の人に会って、女の人は武士に赤ちゃんをあげます。全然怖くないけど、多分読むとちょっとびっくりするかもしれません。
I would recommend this book if you’re looking for some mysterious stories, or something with a little bit of a fantasy bent. But if you’re looking for something actually scary, keep on looking. It’s not that I expected these stories to leave me with nightmares, but I was hoping for a disquieting thought or two and for the most part they disappointed. In terms of readability, I’d recommend this book to second and third year Japanese students.
この本はとてもおもしろかったです。浦島太郎は優しい人だった、でもこの本の終わりで寂しかったです。本の中の亀はどんな亀は私はまだわかりません。この本は新しい漢字がありますから、いい練習だと思います。たくさん新しい文法がありませんから、いい文法のふくしゅだと思います。
This is definitely an interesting story that I would recommend to my classmates. I think the moral of this story is different for everyone, and this is what makes this book interesting. There are not a lot of new grammar so I think it can help first year Japanese students to review.
とても面白い本です！絵姿奥さんは綺麗いですから、結婚したの後で、男は毎日奥さんの顔見て、働きませんでした。そして、男は奥さんの絵を持って、畑に働きました。あの日、強い風が吹きて、その絵は殿様に飛んでいきました。殿様「綺麗な人だなあ」と言って、奥さんは殿様の城に行きました。男は家で毎日桃を植えて、桃を売りに殿様の城に行きました。最後、殿様の着物を着た、奥さんと一緒に城で楽しく暮らしました。
I recommend this book to anyone who would like to read a japanese folktale! The story line is very interesting and easy to follow. There are new vocabulary and grammar structures, but you can basically guess their meaning. The story also has a happy ending. Very educational and fun read!
